Contemporary Fashion Dolls
Fashion Dolls have been filling our homes for over two centuries. 19th century french clothing designers used dolls as ambassadors of their style. Boudoir dolls held court in bedrooms of the 1920s and 1930s. Perhaps the best known fashion doll is Barbie, who made her debut in 1950 at the International Toy Fair in New York City. But still many others.
The dolls featured in this gallery are ones from the 1970s and beyond. Earlier fashion dolls will be featured in other galleries.
